I cannot express how delighted I am today, 5 years ago I was filled with the enthusiasm of founding what we are celebrating today. It started like a fetus in the belly of a woman. As a child growing up in Nigeria I was challenged by the inadequacy of available social and government support system. However, I was always telling God I would do something fundamental to help the needy and the less privileged as soon as I achieve a level of comfort and leadership in the society. Amidst the months in the year 2012, I was struck by the blow of now-is-the-time. But if I had been for-told, I never would belief the successes recorded so far can be achieved in just 5 years.
Ebunlobinrin Foundation was born out of passion to give women a voice in the society; in the course of 5 years we have been able to tremendously achieve this. We have rolled out several women empowerment schemes to alleviate poverty among the grassroots women, we provided Grassroots Women Empowerment Scheme (GWES) in 2012 to render free of interest, and no collateral requirement loans services to Nigeria women, the Scheme which was extended to male youth in 2014 has empowered over 24,000 people as I speak, some of our GWES Coordinators in our midst today can attest to this.
With passion to reducing poverty among the Nigeria youth, Ebunlobinrin Foundation, in 2014 put forward an annual skill acquisition training program. Since then, we have turned out over 12,000 graduates in over 30 vocations. We have embarked on health programs for women and children. We have provided partial/total scholarship package for less privileged girls up to tertiary institutions with our beneficiaries numbering 350. We have also been able to successfully venture into intellectual empowerment. Indeed, I made bold to say, Ebunlobinrin Foundation has been able to provide what the vulnerable ones need. In five years, Ebunlobinrin Foundation has grown to be among the foremost grassroot development and women empowerment organizations in Nigeria, all to the glory of the almighty God.
I must confess, the Foundation wouldn’t have done much if not for how it is structured and systemized, Ebunlobinrin Foundation provides avenue for anyone to fulfill his or her calls to impacting into the lives of the needy. For example, If your passion is feeding the aged but you at present has no means to do that, then all you have to do is to join Ebunlobinrin Foundation, you’ll find yourself achieving your dream bigger and better with no financial implications from you. That is the system!
I have in 5 years worked with members who are personate about making good name for the Foundation, my executives in the past and present are superb, giving Ebunlobinrin Foundation what I would term “a supersonic lift”. The foundation that was launched by just 7 persons in Ifo Local Government of Ogun State in 2012 now have over 30,000 members home and abroad with Chapters in all the Southwestern states of Nigeria, the Inauguration of Lagos Chapter Executives, we are including as part of today’s celebration.
Also noteworthy is the contributions of my fathers, Alhaji Olaotan Bello and Chief Doja Adewolu. I remembered the duo saying sometimes ago, “maa ba se lo, a wa lehin e”. What will I have achieved without you?
God has been faithful to the Foundation; He had endowed the foundation capable helping hands and sponsors. He had blessed us with people that make us belief nothing is unachievable, His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun(fca) the governor of Ogun State, Hon. (Chief) Jide Ojuko, the Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. (Chief) Muyiwa Oladipupo, the Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. (Mrs) Abiola Okonji Kufile, the Ogun State Commissioner for Women affairs and Social Development, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, Secretary to the State Government of Ogun State. These set of fathers and mother make Ogun state conducive for the Ebunlobinrin Foundation to thrive.
I also appreciate the impact contributed by the Lagos State Government under His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to seeing that Ebunlobinrin Foundation has base in Lagos State.
I thank everyone who has in one way or the other contributed to the achievements so far recorded by our foundation and also use this medium to assure Nigerians, most especially the Yorubas that Ebunlobinrin Foundation will be consistent in delivering its selfless services of empowering the feminine gender in particular and every other less privileges in general, in Nigeria.
I am grateful to the almighty God for the initiative, He gave me and has since supplied me with the energy, health, wealth, materials and helping hands to push along. To Him alone be the Glory.
